According to the Archive Act of 1995 the Information division oversees the creation, management and care of the central government public records.
The Information division monitors the registration, accessibility, safe and permanent storage, and the selection and destruction of archival material. The division also ensures that archives selected for long-term conservation are correctly processed and transferred to the public archives as cultural heritage.
