The Collections division supervises the care and management of State collections in privatised national museums.
It monitors the registration, conservation and storage- and risk management.
Objects of national importance that are not part of the State collection are
protected by the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act of 1984. The Collections
division checks the presence of these objects. A licence is required to export
cultural goods of a specific age and value beyond European Union borders. The
Collections division authorises these licences for Customs.
